Cheesecake sketch

So I've been insanely stressed out lately.
Being a professional artist can sometime feel very restrictive and confining. I have to draw what the client asks. Whether it's for another comic book company, or for what one of you guys commission me to do. Even when I'm writing my own comics, and I can do whatever I want, I'm still confined to alot of planning and writing before I can jump into the art.

Now, don't get me wrong. I love it, or I wouldn't be doing it for a living, but it can feel too restrictive at times.

So last night i decided to blow off some steam and have some fun. I did a few sketches like this, sort of being a stream of consciousness. Not knowing what I wanted the final product to be, just sketching following one idea to another until this came out. It's liberating to create art not knowing what the hell you're gonna make when you start.

I recommend it to everyone who sometimes feels like they're restricted. Just do something for fun. It might not be your best piece of art (i know this piece isn't) but It'll free up your mind a little and de-stress you.
