Last Copy of Shadows of Oblivion: Better Days!?!  WHO WANTS IT!?!?!

wow... that was loud...

anyways....

What does the special edition entail?

First you get a copy of Shadows of Oblivion: Better Days with the exclusive sketch cover! No, that doesn't mean that the cover has a sketch printed on it.  It means that I will sketch whatever you want on the cover of the book.  That gives your copy a one of a Kind original drawing for a cover of the comic!  Here is an example (i'll be posting more examples as i get them drawn):
Better Days Sketch 37 by ShonoBetter Days Sketch 36 by ShonoBetter Days Sketch 35 by ShonoBetter Days Sketch 34 by ShonoBetter Days Sketch 33 by ShonoBetter Days Sketch 30 by ShonoBetter Days Sketch 31 by ShonoBetter Days Sketch 32 by ShonoBetter Days Sketch 29 by ShonoBetter Days Sketch 28 by ShonoBetter Days Sketch 27 by ShonoBetter Days Sketch 26 by ShonoBetter Days Sketch 25 by ShonoBetter Days Sketch 24 by ShonoBetter Days Sketch 23 by ShonoBetter Days Sketch 22 by ShonoBetter Days Sketch 21 by ShonoBetter Days Sketch 20 by ShonoBetter Days Sketch 19 by ShonoBetter Days Sketch 18 by ShonoBetter Days Sketch 17 by ShonoBetter Days Sketch 16 by ShonoBetter Days Sketch 15 by ShonoBetter Days Sketch 14 by ShonoBetter Days Sketch 13 by ShonoBetter Days Sketch 12 by ShonoBetter Days Sketch 11 by ShonoBetter Days Sketch 10 by ShonoBetter Days Sketch 9 by ShonoBetter Days Sketch 8 by ShonoBetter Days Sketch 6 by ShonoBetter Days Sketch 7 by ShonoBetter Days Sketch 5 Starfire by ShonoBetter Days Sketch 4 Tifa by ShonoBetter Days Sketch 1 by ShonoBetter Days Sketch 2 by ShonoBetter Days Sketch 3 by Shono

But you get more!  You also get an exclusive, neve-before-seen, 11" x 8.5", full color print!  Here's a teaser:
Exclusive Print Teaser 2 by Shono

And I'll throw in a few stickers too as long as supplies hold out. (I honestly have no idea how many stickers are in this box...)

The Special Edition cost $25 USD plus shipping.  Which is a fantastic deal considering that it cost more to commission me for a pencil drawing, and here youre getting an original drawing, plus a print plus a comic.  You can't loose!

Send me a note if you'd like to order.

I'm also offering bundles for those of you who are the collector types who love having all the covers, or missed out on the #0 special edition.  Those are as follows:

1. BETTER DAY'S SPECIAL EDITION

PRICE: $25 (plus shipping)

YOU GET: Your one of a kind sketch on the cover of the book.  Exclusive print. and some stickers!

2. BETTER DAYS BUNDLE

PRICE: $30 (plus shipping)

YOU GET: the "Better Days" Sketch cover with your one of a kind drawing on the front, and your exclusive print, AND a copy of "Better Days" with the standard cover by :iconmybeloved:.

3. COLLECTOR'S BUNDLE

PRICE: $40 (plus shipping)

YOU GET: Everything in #2 Better Days Bundle. PLUS you get a copy of Shadows of Oblivion #0 with an additional Sketch drawn on the inside of the issue!

And just incase you are in the dark as to what "Better Days" is about, here is a quick synopsis:
This issue features two short stories taking place during the "better days" of the clan, years before the events of Issue Zero tore everything apart. Back when there were still heroes, and the line between good and evil was clean cut. It contains 33 pages of story I think you'd really enjoy, as well as some fantastic pin up art from :icontsuzukikun: :iconviviku: :iconmybeloved:

So don't wait guys, It's going to go fast!

We're too lost

Considering some people here on dA ask this price (the lowest to highest) for a single drawing in commission fee...I think it isn't expensive to support an emerging comic artist.

I'm poor, for me it's expensive.

Then perhaps formulating it that way, wouldn't have come out as a critism. It wasn't against you personally and i'm sorry to hear of your situation, however I've heard a lot of people complain when they obviously simply had no idea of regular commission price, obviously this doesn't apply to you

Actually, even if I had the money I'd say it's too expensive, not to offend but this artwork isn't all that great...

Oh well...only thing is a courteous opinion would be to say you do not like it...not that it isn't great...that sounds offensive to the artist and to those who actually like what he does...then again that's my way of thing

#1 won't be out til February. Right now the only special edition available is the "Better Days"

You could order the "Collector's bundle" which includes Better days sketch cover, regular cover and issue #0 with a bonus sketch inside.

Just send me a note letting me which collection you want (special edition or collector's bundle) your name, mailing address and what sketch or sketches you'd like me to do for you. I'll reply with how to send payment and then we'll be all set!

thanks for your support!

When I have that info I'll give you the final price including shipping and where you can send the payment.

well I'm don't know exactly how the kindle works (since i don't have one), BUT i theory my digital download of my comic should work on your kindle! Heres a link to where you can buy that! [link]

So far only issue #0 is available for it, but Better Days and Issue #1 will be available soon!

I'm interested but I don't think I can afford it *sadface* I saw your comment on my page, by the way. you're welcome! ^w^ hope to see more of your awesome work in the future, and hope you get to check out my gallery, if you're not too busy. I love me some feedback, because I'm aspiring to do comics for a living as well.

Well I appreciate the fandom, and hopefully if you get some spare cash you'll pick up my book! (i know typically the holidays are fully of gift cash from relatives! haha)

And as far as your work goes, it looks like you have a good foundation. Just keep practicing anatomy. especially hands. (not to say your hands are bad, they're just the hardest thing for any artist to draw, so the more you work on them the better).

If you want to make comics for a living you have to start working on sequential story telling. (like a comic page) Proper juxtaposition panels to properly and clearly tell a story interestingly is sometimes just as hard as drawing a hand, and its a skill that needs to be developed.
I also noticed in your gallery there are just a bunch of pin ups. and practicing the figure is good. But if you want to draw comics, show a wide variety of enviroments and scenes for the characters to exist in. The background is like a character all its own, and gives the story such a better feeling. So learn about perspective and how to draw a figure in an environment.

the most important thing though, if you want to make comics is to... well... make comics. Don't make excuses why you can't do it. I've heard a million of them, and they're all crap. If its something you want to do, then go do it, there isn't a good reason not to.

i rambled on for a while... sorry... but hopefully it helps you make good comics! And if you find some spare change laying around hopefully it'll add up to picking up one of my books! haha

rambling is good! I always seem to ramble, without meaning to~so is all good :)

~Also, yeah hands can be tricky for me, sometimes. I have my good days and bad days, so I don't take offense at all ^w^
~I'm really bad at backgrounds, working on them little by little, because I've always been a people person, and not so much an environment/architectural kind of artist. I really have to study real life building more I guess too. ^^
~as far as panels, and things, do you hand draw them? use a certain software, or something? And how did you get published and all that? I've been winging it so far, trying to build a fan base and do commissions and things, and then either start a little webcomic, and then publish, or try both at once, or something. I figured a webcomic would help build a fan base too.

(and if I'm taking up comment space or something on here, lemme know, please~! >w< Don't wanna be a nuisance! we could maybe exchange contact info or go back and forth in a note maybe? if you want to, that is) and thank you for all the helpful advice! It means a lot to me, really

well you have to draw the panels. there are programs that can help you with it, but when all is said and done, by hand or by computer, its just a series of squares on the page that tell the story.

As far as getting published there are many avenues. I'm kinda tired tonight so i'm not going to go into them here. But feel free to send me a note I'll answer any questions you have. I'm not a big shot or anything (infact i'm one of the smallest artists in the industry) but I am a pro so i'd be happy to help
