I created a wallpaper of the series. Mainly for myself cause i'm egotistical and i like looking at my own artwork all the time. But if you want to make it your wallpaper too feel free.
I could of sworn there used to be a "wallpaper" gallery on DA. but i can't find it. if someone tells me where it is i'll switch this picture, but until then its staying here.
I love it. I love the way your graphics look so oldschool. The shading looks like Zipatone or atleast spot printing. The Logo looks like old propaganda spray paint.
It is really inspiring and gives me alot of ideas for my current project. Don't worry, I am not going to copy it.
I am looking for options to give similar emotions.
Good to hear man! Everything you said is exactly what i was going for. I wanted an oldschool feeling, with dirty, grungy, emotions. And those are zipatones, or Screen tones, or manga tones, or whatever you call them (i've heard so many names for them).
And thats fine, I'm happy I inspired you. And I'm not overly concerned about copying me, I have enough confidence in my book's unique style .... I think its will be very very hard for someone to copy...
Manga Tones? I didn't realize that till you mentioned them. They look like late 80's japanese comics (way back when they were not called manga yet)Kind of reminds me of the old B&W TMNT, before they became kids cartoons.
I have been looking for a style that gives a similar feel for a game I am designing (no developer house yet, so it's a real long shot) [link] My style tends to be more 90's comic mixed with realism. I need to grundge it up a bit.
When I first saw the logo, I thought you where working on a game an kept my eye on the development of the project.
Hope it does well, considering the level of quality your puting into it.
How did you do the Web comic? Flash?, power point?
Haha, if i didn't know better i'd say you were being paid to say these things. That is EXACTLY the feel I'm going for. I love that very gritty dirty feeling the old TMNT comics gave, and the older Manga (like Akira)
You do have a little more of a realistic look to your style, but i wouldn't say 90's. You would need much bigger guns and ALOT more pockets for it to be 90's hahahaha. (oh rob leifeld)
Well thanks. I'll have this comic in print soon... well as soon as i can get time to finish some pinups for the gallery at the end of the book. (i don't want people to spend 3 bucks on a comic that has 11 pages of story, thats a rip off.)
I did the comic in flash. I don't know flash very well so i just found a free program called simple viewer, and it built the flash code for me.
You could add the concept development sketches at the end.Personally I love to see those, how characters developed from the inicial idea to the final product. Then again, I am bias. Maybe add some character profiles, so people get a better feel for the characters.
Yeah i have a short 2 page story that a friend drew for me thats going in there. and i have bunch of pin up art thats going in.... Right now its all in sketch form though i need to actually finish the art.
