Gorgeous work.
Edge of the Spider-Verse #2 was my first comic and I love that comic and Gwen version presented there.  Afterwards Spider-Gwen series when it came out in Feb 2015 became my first comic series.  She and a couple of others in the Marvel universes are among my top favorites.

Reading the comments bellow the whole MJ vs Gwen topic has been a hotbed topic.  In fact in every series shipping topics/wars usually are a hotbed of mess and has me not enjoying "Love Interests" aspects because of such topics.
Usually it's 75% of the two sides just making my ship right or wrong vs discussion and reasoning why one likes a certain side more.

Still my two cents on this matter.

First off we have to establish what version of the characters as each different version is really their own character.  Gwen Stacy 616  ≠ Gwen Stacy 65.  Also for this topic I'm mostly writing about the Earth-65 Gwen Stacy (Spider-Gwen) and the 616 original not counting the 616 Gwen clones whom like Ben and Kaine for Peter I see not a resurrected Gwen Stacy but more of a new character that is more akin as a sister of 616 Gwen's born by science.

Thus I see each new Gwen and Earth presented to us as separates including who is a compatible match per version plus some versions of Gwen I love and some I dislike.
I love: animated Spectacular Gwen Stacy the social outcast nerd (my first Gwen Stacy thus a infunacule one and bar I have for other Gwens I find or made later on),
The punk rock band drummer Gwen Stacy/Spider-Woman from Earth-65,
I also like Gwen Stacy from Age of Apocalypse the human resistance leader and right hand woman to Donald Blake (Thor Odinson),
Ultimate 1610 goth Gwen Stacy (both versions),
The one hinted to having a relationship with MJ (A-Force Earth-16191/Arcadia Gwen Stacy/Spider-Woman sta.sh/05g1g9pql7b ),
Plus also Little Gwen Stacy/Spider-Woman from Little Marvel Earth
Mary Jane love Spider-man Gwen Stacy (the series for the most part until the last issue did a fantastic job with both Gwen and MJ versions in terms of balance in likability fairness presented as usually a writer will write one slightly better than the other due to subconscious preferences I feel)
Ultimate animated series Gwen Stacy/Spider-Woman (who is Spider-woman by technology vs genetics and Aunt May is her 'Oracle/mission control')
I have high hopes for the upcoming animated Gwen Stacy/Spider-Woman version coming this fall.
Plus of course Amazing movie series Emma Stone Gwen Stacy that many might of been introduce to as their first Gwen Stacy.

However the 616 Gwen version is more on my natural side (and lower end of my favorite Gwen Stacy versions rankings).

One thing I see is that the writers per earth and Gwen they make is different from other Gwens while still having some similares to others.  This has "Gwen Stacy"in terms of the whole Multiverse be amoung the few I found to  have the gift of variety.  The different writers make their Gwens versions for their world they get to craft and build and how they want her to be and how to best have her add a chemistry with the rest of the cast (MJ and Peter mostly).  This has given Gwen Stacys and future created ones a strength.  This I feel is because of the few reasons.

First Gwen of the 616 had died and it was some time till the late 80's or early 90's till she was used again.  With the passing of time the memories of Gwen from people became a bit more fuzzy.  This however would allow a writer more freedom when making a new Earth and cast to be able to change Gwen to better suit that story and cast while being different from the 616 version because people have usually a set image of characters but with 'Gwen' having a fuzzy one due to time not used allow writers more flexibility for her with less fan backlash for that.

Then the second was the writers discovered something or did something the original writers of 616 Gwen didn't.  In the past when original 60's 616 Gwen and MJ was around MJ party girl and extrovert vibe made her popular (plus Gwen and MJ was very beautiful with Mj having a great character establishing shot with her intro that has become a catchphase for her (sometimes a bit too much used however by writers that it's loses a bit per poor useage).  Well like today when something is popular copies of such happens.
The same happened back then.  The writers started to make Gwen to be more like MJ to try and emulate her success and likability from MJ's party girl attitude/extrovert.  Instead of making her different but still developed into her own character and build on that and a character chemistry she could of had with MJ and Peter using her science talents plus crafted and developed to fill a void and balance of personalities they instead tried to copy MJ.  They tried to make Gwen even look like MJ later on (look at her first appearance to her final appearance on the tragic bridge and how she had a makeover that looked very much like MJ).  This was a unwise move and made her less revenant not finding a niche for herself and a way to fill and differentiated herself from the three.

Later on future writers learned and was able to make their own Gwens to be able to sit along side Peter and MJ and the three were their own versions, 'amigos', and stand out from each other.  Allow have the three able to have a chemistry, personality, role, and/or bounce off of each other in good ways.

Thus now I'm generally a HUGE fan of thus far the multiverse range, mode, and arithmetic mean of all the 'Gwen Stacys' made.  Thus in terms of Multiverse I'm a fan of 'Gwen Stacy' for the most part due to how many I love/like vs how many I don't and that each one can be different thus the unknown aspects is fascinating and I hope each new one made will be great.

Each Gwen Stacy are their own character and their own destiny also plus who each one can date and be a wonderful relationship can be different per Gwen and other.

So JUST comparing 616 versions of the characters between Gwen and MJ back when both existed who was a good 'love interest' but more importantly who was a better rounded character as just themselves: eh neither.  Back then I found the writing style and culture doesn't help either character due to how culture and story wise we have changed.    I found both having good aspects but allow pretty big negative ones.  Both served as damsels in distress and had made poor choices.  For example was when MJ was written wanting to go where the Rhino was attacking not to help  or some good reason but because the chaos looked 'cool'.  She went into a dangerous area just for thrills.  Later on in the early 90's that was reconned with good writing and used to help her development back taken for face value that was a dumb and bizarre move and doesn't give MJ points.  616 Gwen had her own moments as well during that 60's time period.
After Gwen died that became the catalyst for MJ to gain her own development.  Her death moved and affected MJ developing her beyond the party girl (which is fun for a while but if she never developed that would of gotten old and then I feel MJ would've become only a number in the many "love Interests" Peter has had).  It was then from good writers and tales that developed MJ, reconed some of her past actions, and with time allowing her to be the norm for 616 Peter allowed her  to be seen by many to be "the One".  Marriage but most importantly having a (generally liked) MJ version in the successful 90's animated series and the Movie series from the early 2000's (comics are a niche market but small screen TV and big Screen movies have a bigger reach) helps give her further institutionalization mindset of her personality and role amoung people.

Thus MJs I found has less variety than Gwens has because of institutionalization and the backlash writers might get if making 'MJ' different from the 616 version (or more importantly from the general idea/image who some fans think any MJ version to be or MUST be) but could still be used differently per writer and earth made.  There are MJs I love and MJs I dislike also and some I'm neutral towards.

After all the development between 616 Gwen and 616 MJ for Peter as a love interest MJ is the stronger one thanks to having the luxury of time/issues that with good writers giving her development of character that 616 Gwen was denied to have by death (and we don't see her have the chance for development like 616 MJ gotten unless she truly gets resurrected or a series that takes place in the afterlife happens that 616 Gwen is a big part of).

Currently 616 MJ however has fallen for me.  The love and understanding she had for Peter has gone away and I find her attacks against Peter to be annoying and her hating/blasting superheroes or superheroics.  I'm hoping she will rise and be able to be a strong character in the Iron Man series (to showcase she is not an inflexible character that can only exist one series that she can be able to branch out and have a chemistry with other characters as I don't want a character to only work if they HAVE TO BE 'love interest' just to be interesting and used well in the end).

I'm enjoying/loving currently 'Renew Your Vows' MJ version very much right now.

As for Earth-65 Gwen Stacy.  Her age difference from 616 Peter can be a negative for now (maybe when she is away from the high school/college age range and adult range it will be less awkward).  Plus agian she isn't 616 Gwen.  She is her own character and has her own experiences and personality.  What crafts a personality is your peers, your environment, your experiences, culture, time period, and more.  Many different from 616.  Gwen Stacy 65 and Gwen Stacy 616 are not the same character despite both being a Gwen Stacy for there Earths and linked spiritually in that way.  Peter Parker on some worlds is pure evil but Peter Parker of 616 isn't and his own person as well not binded to any other Peter version that exists.  Each different character version can't answer or be simply a replacement for other versions or HAS to have the same destiny.  Every character has their own destiny alone (that is whatever the writer wants and crafted).
So while 616 Gwen and 616 Peter were lovers Earth-65 Gwen and 616 Peter doesn't share that feeling.  They do share the feeling of tragedy and how the other's face can make them feel emotions because of what happened to their versions.  They can talk and bond and promise to watch each other backs to ensure the other doesn't die not wanting to hold a dead version of the other whose face and in a way a spiritual link is there agian.

Can Earth-65 Gwen/Spider-Gwen and 616 Peter be lovers in the future and work?  That is only up to the writers and the quality and developments they make or not.

Meanwhile 1610 Miles and 65 Gwen is nice and I'm enjoying the storyline and bond they made.  Romance wise not yet but still I'm open for the pathway for the two.

Lastly another love interest I enjoyed other than MJ and Gwen versions was a character named 'Chat' and was a 'true love' for one Peter/Spider-man version not MJ or Gwen of that tale/Earth made.  So no 'ship' is binding for all versions made and sometimes an unexpected but great romance can blossom per earth and versions.

I know this girl is a Teenager border-lining on College Student, but I wish she would get together with Peter and not Miles Morales!

I don't I understand what you mean by teenager/college and "get together"? Isn't Miles also a teenager/college student too? and what's wrong with Miles? He's perfect to hold the mantle of Spider-Man.

Basically this comment confuses me, is what I'm trying to say.

I'm just expressing frustration. I really like Gwen beng paired with Peter Parker Spider-Man because I've grown fond of Gwen Stacy and have started seeing her as a better fit for Peter than Mary Jane compatibility wise.

A lot of people say that, but it's fundamentally untrue. The reason Gwen Stacy died, and Pete ended up with Mary Jane was because the fans hated Gwen. They thought she was boring and annoying, and they LOVED Mary Jane.  Mary Jane was literally made for Peter.

NerdSync actually did a really great video telling how beautifully crafted the love story between Peter and Mary Jane was.  It was engineered and planned over the course of dozens and dozens of issues. it wasn't just thrown together haphazardly If you're interested: youtu.be/4xtzfzDkWzs

Of course that all doesn't mean you can't like Gwen better. She's an interesting character in Spider-Gwen. It's just in Pete's Universe she wasn't a better fit.

Actually, I came form Seattle Comic Con where I heard Stan Lee talk, and he said Gwen Stacey's death wasn't even his idea. He didn't plan it and didn't really approve it.

It's true. In fact MJ was introduced before Peter was even dating Gwen. and when MJ appeared in that doorway everyone fell in love with her and wanted MJ and Peter to get together. But Stan wanted Peter and Gwen together so they were forced to make that part of the story.  So in order to give the fans (and writers) what they wanted they killed Gwen. (it's a little more complicated than that, but for simplicity's sake, it's accurate.)  Stan didn't plan or approve, but MJ literally was made to be with Peter and no one liked Gwen, so we got the story that we got.

Again it's totally okay if you like Gwen better. We all have our personal tastes in characters and story. That's what makes things fun and interesting.  But it's not quite correct to say Gwen was better for Peter when MJ was literally created to be his soul mate.
